Pretty Pines Noel Card

What I have for you today is a simple, but beautiful Christmas card!  No fussy-cutting, no frills, but rich Christmas colors and design.img_7295

While I love the Pretty Pines Framelits, this card does not use them!  It only uses the stamp set, which is equally as wonderful!

Megan

Foxy Friends Wedding Wishes Card

I had such fun creating this cute-sy little fox couple.  Aren’t they just adorable?!?!?  I’m loving the bright Calypso Coral foxes mixed with Smoky Slate and Island Indigo!  The colors were just made for each other, kind of like these fox friends! 😉img_7452

This card is most definitely not for the faint of heart as there was a lot of pieces and supplies used, but feel free to CASE away!

Candy Cane Lane DSP Cookie Sheet Card

I am in the crafting for Christmas mood!  Are you?  I have to be with upcoming Craft shows and classes, but I am really enjoying it. I created this card for the Proverbial Stampers Challenge for October.  The challenge was to create a project that showcases our Designer Series Paper (we call it DSP for short).  Plain and simple.  So, here was my take on the assignment:img_7401

I believe this card showcases one of my favorite Stampin’ Up Christmas papers of all time: Candy Cane Lane DSP.  I especially like this paper because it is easy to use as a background as is or to fussy-cut elements out as I did for my cookies on the cookire sheet here.  So fun!

On the inside, I used another fussy-cut tree and a strip of our favorite washi tape!  Hope you enjoy!

Megan

Stampin’ my way to Alaska Blog Hop for October#ALASKA2018

akbloghop-600x600

I am so excited to let my blog followers know that I am working on earning my very first Stampin’ Up incentive trip, this year to ALASKA!  I’ve joined this blog hop with lots of other creative souls who are also working their way to this Alaska Trip.  I hope you’ll take the time to hop on through and see what everyone else is up to, too!

October’s theme is “Just Decorate it.”   So, I chose to decorate a gift holder made using containers that some Stampin’ Up embellishments come in.  PLEASE tell me I’m not the only one hoarding hundreds (OK, not hundreds, but plenty!) of these cute little containers for the craft project I know I’ll get to one day?!?!?

img_7405

Well, that day is today ladies!  When I heard Janet Wakeland’s theme of “Just Decorate it” I thought, YES!  Just decorate those cute containers you always say you’re going to do something with but really you’re just collecting containers.

I used the Layering Circle Framelits Dies to make this project super easy.  The littlest circle on the Halloween one is made using the 1″ circle punch.  But, other than that…Layering Circle Framelits it is!  The circle on the front of each is made using the 1 7/8″ circle die and then layered behind using the 2″ scallop circle die.  The circle on the back is made using the 1 5/8″ circle die.  Easy peasy! Then, just decorate according to your needs and you’re set to go!

Here’s a little more description from L to R:

For the Halloween one, I discovered that a single Reese’s PB cup fits perfectly inside the thicker containers.  I’m sure many other treats perfect for Halloween would fit, too.  Use your creativity!

For the Have a Holly Jolly Christmas one, I left the Fancy Frost sequins (item #142519) in the original container and will use as a hostess gift for one of my November workshop hostesses!

And, for the Christmas Joy one, I stuffed in some hard cash!  I have a hard time just putting money in a card, because I like to give and receive gifts.  This makes even the simplest gift of cash a little more special.  I embossed the white layer with the Pine Bough Textured Impressions Folder for a little detail.

I hope you’ve enjoyed and that you are totally going to make one for everyone on your gift list this year! 🙂

Megan

Touches of Texture Sympathy Card

You’ll never know when you’ll need to have a sympathy card on hand, so I like to create a bunch at a time so I know I’ll have it right when it’s needed.  Here’s one I created recently using the Touches of Texture set for some soft colors and dimension.img_7300

This set lends itself perfectly to creating backgrounds that are vibrant and eye-catching, yet not overbearing.  I think it’s often overlooked, but I think it’s a hidden gem!

Do you keep sympathy cards on hand?  Or do you make one as you need it?

Acorny Thank You – Dropping in to Say Hi

img_7311

This one is another mixture of old and new!  Acorny Thank You was one of my favorite fall sets from last year and it was being begged to be used once again.  This was one of the cards made at my Fall Cards Class last evening.

The twine I used is pretty thick so I separated it into the three strands and only used one to string it through the punches on the acorn tops.  With a bit of glue, dried slightly, at the end of one side of the twine, it slips through the holes easily.  Just snip that end when you’re finished stringing the acorns on!

Stampin’ Up Ultimate PINK Blog Hop – Sweet Cupcake Card

pink

Welcome to our first ever Pink Blog Hop in support of Breast Cancer Awareness!  This is a collection of ideas featuring everything PINK from the Stampin’ Up catalogs!  Enjoy!

I know, if you all are anything like me, we tend to forget all about the annual catalog when we’re crafting away at holiday items!  But, I chose to look back at that and bring out a set that I LOVE, the Sweet Cupcake Bundle, and highlight a special pink card in honor of our blog hop!

img_7017

This card uses half a sheet (3″ by 5 1/4″) of the gray and white side of the A Little Foxy 6″ x 6″ DSP.  I was tired of only being able to get ONE card front out of ONE sheet of the 6″ x 6″ DSP packs, so this way you can get two!  Woohoo for saving paper.  That layer of DSP is popped up using dimensionals along with the candle and flame.

The effect on the center cupcake is done using the Versamark pad, first with Heat and Stick powder, heated only until wet, then topped with the Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter and heated again until set.  Perfectly iced and sparkly cupcake!

Hope you enjoy my PINK card!  All the best to those fighting breast cancer or to those who have beat it, congratulations!  We are here for you and cheering  you on!  Celebrate one day at a time!
