Ombre Happy Hearts Hello Card

OK ladies, I know I may be a bit behind the times, but I am still loving this ombre trend! ¬†I worked this style into a card using Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay, and Pool Party. ¬†Are you a fan of ombre? ¬†I’m digging it!

IMG_6886

If you don’t know about ombre, I’m sure you’re not alone! ¬†Ombre is varying shades of the same color that fade out. ¬†So this card would be spectacular in any shade of a vibrant color. ¬†I think PINK would be beautiful or PURPLE! ¬†Experiment away!

This is a great card to use up tiny little solid paper scraps. ¬†Another note: I prefer to use the Whisper White Thick cardstock when I’m big-shotting thin words like this one! ¬†(YES, of course: big-shotting is totally a word!) haha.

Here’s what you’ll need:

104430 Stampin’ Dimensionals ($4.00)

131197 Bermuda Bay Cardstock ($7.00)

140272 Whisper White Thick Cardstock ($7.00)

122923 Island Indigo Cardstock ($7.00)

122924 Pool Party Cardstock ($7.00)

137364 Happy Hearts Textured Embossing Folder ($7.50)

113439 Big Shot ($110.00)

110755 Multipurpose Liquid Glue ($4.00)

141897 Clear Wink of Stella Brush ($8.00)

It’s my Party Washi Tape Class

Recently I hosted an It’s my Party Washi Tape class in my home! ¬†I designed all the cards and attendees came and created the 4 cards and left with some great tips on using washi tape at home when they’re crafting.

Here are the cards we made!

We had a blast creating together! ¬†And, just for my blog readers…here are my tips for using washi tape on cards at home.

Use washi tape to:

1. As tape! Go figure!  Use to hold a piece of paper or small/thin embellishment such as a doily, in place on your card.

2. To make a self-sticking mini banner. Just cut off short pieces of tape and wrap around baker’s twine and snip edges to make a banner! So cute!

3. To decorate the inside of your card or the outside of your envelope.

4. To create your own background paper by lining up washi tape side to side on a white sheet of paper. Use as is for background paper or punch out smaller shapes to decorate your card.

5. To make stripes on your card as you would paper or a stamp to give some dimension behind a saying or other stamping.

Lego Happy Birthday Card

OK, so this is the last of the boy birthday card series!  Ending with my lego card.  So fun and could be perfect for anyone, even the kid at heart who still enjoys legos.

Stars and Baseball Birthday Card

Another one of my birthday cards for boys although this could totally be for a gal who loves baseball too! ūüôā

IMG_6828

I just love the glittery goodness that the stars lend to this card! ¬†Although the saying and background stamp is now retired (it’s from Party Pants this Sale-a-bration season) it could easy be switched up to include another birthday saying. ¬†I hand drew the lines on the baseball after punching the circle out of Whisper White.

Here’s a robot one that I worked on from the Boys Will Be Boys stamp set. ¬†I must admit that this is the first time I used this set for something other than the Happy Birthday stamp! ¬†Yay me!
