New In-Colors Sneak Peek – Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Emerald Envy

I am delighted to say the the adorable hummingbird from Picture Perfect isn’t going anywhere, for now at least!  YAY!  Happy dance over here!!! 🙂

Since I’m loving the new in-colors so much I wanted to feature them in a card that you could still make as well, in whatever colors you choose.

I chose to use Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, and Peekaboo Peach in this card (along with the Smoky Slate we already carry).  And, I love the way it came together!

For the leaves, after stamping and cutting them out using the framelit, I pressed down or brushed the tips with my Versamark pad.  Then I covered in clear embossing powder and heated until shiny!  I thought it made the leaves look a little more realistic and textured.

Here’s what you’ll need:

140520 Picture Perfect Photopolymer Stamp Set ($27.00)

140819 Botanical Blooms Photopolymer Bundle ($51.75)

New Catalog Sneak Peek – Playful Palette

I’m sure you already know this, but with each new annual catalog comes a set of new In-Colors that will stay with us for 2 years.  I wanted to feature as many as I could in this next card.  I managed to fit in Flirty Flamingo (card base), Emerald Envy (heart) and Sweet Sugarplum (scalloped square background piece and banner).  What do you think of the colors?  I’m so happy with them!  Bright and cheerful.

This new set called Painter’s Palette is an artist’s dream come true.    And, don’t get me started on the new In-Color ruched ribbon!  It is the perfect weight for cards and is so in right now.  Woo….OK enough gushing from me.

Megan

You’re in my Thoughts Rose Wonder Card

I just adore the saying set that comes with the Watercolor Wishes Kit that I posted about just yesterday.  Don’t you?  In fact, I know some people that bought that kit just for the saying set and didn’t really care about making the cards…Right Mom??!?!    Anyhow, I think the “You’re in my thoughts” saying is perfect for many occasions: sympathy, thinking of you, get well, or miss you.  And I wanted to use the Rose Wonder Bundle that’s been calling my name ever since it was purchased!!!

Here’s what I came up with using some retired papers that I love, too.  If you haven’t tried the corrugated paper yet, it brings some pretty cool texture to a card!

Here’s what you’ll need:

140406 Watercolor Wishes Card Kit ($35.00)

140619 Rose Garden Thinlits Dies ($31.00)

138326 Mint Macaron Classic Stampin’ Pad ($6.50)

101650 Very Vanilla Cardstock ($8.50)

138337 Mint Macaron Cardstock ($7.00)

138317 Kraft and White Corrugated Cardstock ($7.00)

119850 1 3/4″ Circle Punch ($18.00)

104430 Stampin’ Dimensionals ($4.00)

104199 Thread Linen ($4.50)

113439 Big Shot ($110.00)

Watercolor Wishes All-Inclusive Card Kit

Do you all know about the amazingly all-inclusive card kit that Stampin’ Up sells called Watercolor Wishes?  Well I am a big fan of this kit!  It includes everything you need except adhesive to complete 20 cards start to finish with envelopes!  That’s about $2 per card once you add tax and shipping on.  Great deal! Here are the cards I came up with using this kit!  Sometimes I enjoy making everything on my own but sometimes I really enjoy using a kit where the “thinking” part is done for me and all I need to do is piece together.  THIS is a perfect kit for that or for someone who is new to crafting or doesn’t have a lot of space.  PERFECT!

I like this kit also because it comes totally ready to gift…here’s what it looks like when it comes:

Here are the cards I made using the kit:

And here’s what I have leftover to make more cards or embellish little treat bags or whatever I want to do with them! 🙂

Helping Me Grow Sympathy Card

I needed to get a few Sympathy Cards back in my stash, so I found this idea from Jessica Williams over at The Paper Caper (http://thepapercaper.com.au/2016/03/31/artisan-april-1/)  She is one of the fine ladies on the Artisan Design team with Stampin’ Up.  Her work is amazing!

I mostly CASEd her idea, but tweaked a bit with the stitching and such.  I made some into Birthday cards too, because I loved them so much!

IMG_6891

The cards are a bit of an odd shape, but I like change every once in a while!  The card front measure 5 1/2 x 3 1/2, so total size that you need to cut is 5 1/2 x 7″ and then fold in half.  I LOVE the images stamped and embossed in black on the typeset paper, one of my favorite items that’s retiring this month!!!  The flowers are messy-watercolored (seriously you need not worry about staying in the lines, I think it adds to the vintage-y feel if you mess the lines up a bit!!!!  Promise!)  using the Aqua Painters and the ink pads.

Here’s what you’ll need:

140764 Helping Me Grow ($26.00)

140804 Rose Wonder Bundle ($49.25)

102283 Versamark Pad ($7.50)

Black Embossing Powder

103954 Aqua Painters ($17.00)

126973 Garden Green Classic Stampin’ Pad ($6.50)

131172 Blushing Bride Classic Stampin’ Pad ($6.50)

126982 Pool Party Classic Stampin’ Pad ($6.50)

126963 Perfect Plum Classic Stampin’ Pad ($6.50)

138327 Delightful Dijon Classic Stampin’ Pad ($6.50)

133704 Typeset Designer Series Paper ($13.00)

122924 Pool Party Cardstock ($7.00)

131198 Blushing Bride Cardstock ($7.00)

120953 Crumb Cake Cardstock ($7.00)

113439 Big Shot ($110.00)

104430 Stampin’ Dimensionals ($4.00)
